The Year 2014 in My Own Words

Here’s the thing. A LOT can happen over the course of one year.

Seriously, take any one year of your life that you can remember from start to finish and about it.

There have been years where I’ve made great friends, lost loved ones, and made decisions that have altered the entire course of my life.

In the past year (2013) alone, I changed jobs, got engaged, went to Las Vegas for the first time, and experienced my first 9-hour / $1,000 profit craps session.

Life is fleeting, it moves fast, and a lot can change very quickly. In that regard, one year is a very long time, yet also just a fraction of our overall life, and just a blip on the historical timeline of the world.

Thus, I’m going to try something. Every day of the year 2014 will include one blog post curated by myself. No more, no less.

My goals for this project are simple:

(1) Document not only my life, but the world around me, for the next year on a day-by-day basis.

(2) Commit to something bold and see it through to the finish.

(3) Have fun.

I’m not sure how easy this will be. In fact, I think there will be times when it will feel very difficult. However, in the end I am sure I’ll be glad I did it, and it will be rewarding and entertaining to see how me, my life, and the world have changed over the course of the next year.

(Editor’s note: I’m actually starting 2014 feeling quite sick, so the next few days will be trying for sure, but I’m up for the challenge.)

Day one of 365 in the books.

I welcome all of you to come along for the ride.

I took that challenge about 6 or 7 months ago. It wasn’t easy for the first week, but it gradually got better. You will enjoy it. 🙂
